About Veatch
The Veatch Program works towards fulfilling UUCSR’s congregational mission to build a more just and joyful world. We do this by providing long term, core operating funding for social change organizations led by people who are directly impacted by injustice and for core denominational institutions.
Veatch grantees are building a base of leaders and communities dedicated to inclusion, opportunity and hope. Our strategic grantmaking supports them to find strength in numbers and make systemic change. The over 180 multi-racial organizations and movements we fund are on the frontlines of our nation’s most pressing issues, in urban, suburban and rural America. Our regranting initiatives and collaborative grantmaking with our colleagues in philanthropy, extends our reach and impact.
Veatch grantees create their own solutions, fight for more equitable social policies and hold industries accountable. They make a better world for everyone through organizing and building power for a strong democracy.
Our professional staff members are known for their partnership and leadership in philanthropy, engaging in strategic initiatives that serve Veatch grantees and our mission.
A Board of Governors elected by the congregation oversees the work of the Veatch Program.
The Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock provides support for efforts within the religious and spiritual mission of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock where their purposes are best served by outside agencies acting under the Veatch Program and the Congregation.
