Denominational Affairs Committee (DAC)
The mission of the Denominational Affairs Committee (DAC) is to encourage the members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock to develop and experience a larger understanding of themselves as Unitarian Universalists on a national and international level, and to facilitate the inter-relationship between UUCSR and the wider denomination and its affiliates. The goals of the committee are threefold:
- To encourage UUCSR members to experience and express their faith in a broader dimension through attendance at local, district, national and international conferences within the denomination and its outside affiliates
- To provide opportunities to UUCSR members to educate themselves regarding denominational initiatives and concerns so that they may be congregational leaders
- To be a conduit for the flow of communication and information between the congregation and the larger denomination and affiliates.
Participants in UUA General Assembly 2023, whether official in-person or remote delegates, or non-delegates at any level of participation may benefit from a collection of information compiled by Committee members.

Message from DAC Chair Barry Nobel
DAC welcomes Shelter Rock members to become more involved. Join our committee and help to communicate what’s happening in the local, county, state, national and international UU world! Shelter Rock is not an isolated congregation hidden in the woods up a long driveway. We are not alone! The Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations (UUA), the Long Island Area Council (LIAC), the UN and International Office, our Partner Church in Csikszereda, Transylvania, and the UU Service Committee (UUSC) need us to share their news!
