Assists and enables aging residents of the Town of North Hempstead to remain in their own homes and familiar surroundings as they grow older. Please note, there changes to usual service due to the COVID pandemic. Program updates can be found at: northhempsteadny.gov/coronavirus

Blood pressure screening, monitoring of conditions, fall prevention

SOCIAL AND RECREATION

Virtual fitness classes, dance, Tai Chi, and yoga classes are offered on North Hempstead TV. Channel 18 and 63 on Optimum and Channel 46 on Verizon. Also at www.mynhtv.com/fitness to watch the classes online.
Book club, men’s discussion groups, Center and Parks programs, Technology for the Terrified, Crocheting and knitting for a cause, community educational chats, Radio show and newsletter

Door-to-door taxi twice a week arranged by town to local stores
The food transportation program will be expanding its hours in response to coronavirus. Appointments are needed.

Rides available on weekdays
An aide may ride for free.
Flat $5 each way.

Transportation is available to Centers
Buses are scheduled from each Center to local food stores.
