November 20, 2016 - “A Thousand Thanks"
Our Annual Family Thanksgiving Service: Bread is called “the staff of life”—a basic food that feeds and sustains people throughout the world. During this season of gratitude, we acknowledge this gift from the earth and invite all to bring bread that represents family traditions to share after service. Each family was able to say a few words about the bread that they brought—reminding all of the wonderful diversity of our congregation. Expanding our vision beyond our own walls, we also introduced the UU Service Committee’s Guest at Your Table boxes, featuring displays assembled by “The Questing Year” 6th grade class. Our Jazz Ensemble provided prelude and postlude music. Celebrating the earth’s bounty was the unifying theme.
