News from the UU at the United Nations office
As the UU@UN envoy for Shelter Rock, I would like to invite you to join me at this year’s Intergenerational Spring Seminar on April 1 to April 3, 2023. The theme this year will be “Demilitarization and Abolition: Resist Policing and Empire”. It will be held in Minneapolis in person and on-line.
The Seminar is hosted by the UUA office at the United Nations in close collaboration with the UU College of Social Justice and the UU Service Committee. Their aim is to instill in youth and adults a commitment to global engagement and the skills to take action locally to address these issues.
The keynote speaker will be Andrea Ritchie, co-author of “No more Police”. She is a Black, lesbian, immigrant survivor, who has been documenting, organizing, advocating, litigating, and agitating around the policing and criminalization of black women, girls, trans and gender non-conforming people for the past three decades.
Previous Intergenerational Spring Seminars have shown us that we can connect with the United Nations and with issues of global concern from anywhere in the world.
The Seminar is an opportunity to collaborate with others while learning how to be a global activist. Through workshops, peer and expert led panel discussions, community building activities and worship service, you can explore some of the most challenging issues facing humanity today.

I have attended previous seminars and have found them to be exciting, energizing and most worthwhile. I hope to see you there!
Yours in faith
